Comilla in 10-BGB operation recovers Indian sarees worth Tk 6.8 million

Shah Al Amin Amanat: The Comilla Battalion (10 BGB) has seized Indian sarees worth about Tk 6.8 million in a special operation conducted in the border area.
According to BGB sources, as part of a regular operation to curb smuggling and cross-border crimes in the border area, a patrol team of Shiberbazar BOP in Chauddagram upazila of Comilla conducted an anti-drug and smuggling operation early on Wednesday (June 17).
During the operation, a large quantity of Indian sarees were recovered without an owner in the Nimsar Bazar area, about 8 kilometers inside Bangladesh from the border. The estimated market value of the seized sarees is Tk 6.8 million, according to the BGB.
The BGB has informed that the recovered sarees will be handed over to the customs authorities after completing the necessary legal procedures. At the same time, it has been informed that the BGB’s operation to prevent smuggling in the border area will continue in the future.
