Touhid Hossain Sarkar,Comilla : An official of the Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board left the lights, fan, and AC on in the office and went to sleep in the guest room. He also suddenly left the district without taking leave. This information has been revealed by an on-site investigation at the Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
On Thursday, March 12, at 12:30 pm, the board’s sub-examination controller was not found in the room. However, the AC and lights of the room were seen to be on. There was a discrepancy between the statements of the board secretary and the peon in charge of the sub-examination controller’s room. It is alleged that the sub-examination controller spent time sleeping in the rest house during office hours. He works as he pleases.
Deputy Controller of Examinations (Higher Secondary) regarding the complaint Salahuddin said, “Whether I am in the office or not is my official business. I take rest in the rest house. If I am tired, shouldn’t I take rest? Then why is the rest house doing it?”
When asked why the AC light was on in an empty room, he said, “My peon doesn’t have permission to turn off the AC?” Comilla Education Board Secretary Professor Khondaker Mohammad Sadekur Rahman said that the Deputy Examination Controller went to Narayanganj on Wednesday for an iftar invitation. He took leave verbally. At 11 pm, he said that he was sick and would not work today (Thursday). Salahuddin admitted that he had rested in the rest house, but the secretary said that nothing like that happened. Although the secretary spoke verbally about the leave, the office’s peon Shafiq Mia prepared an application for an undated leave at 12 noon.
