Mohammad Masud Majumder: On Saturday 18 April at 4 pm the Comilla Cultural Alliance’s “Year-1433” celebration program held a series of leadership changes at the convention hall of the city’s Grand Deshpriyo Restaurant.
Under the chairmanship of 1432 Bangabd President Principal Shamim Haider, under the overall coordination of General Secretary Kamal Chanda Khokon and former President Ed. Shahidul Haque Swapan, and under the management of the change board convener Abul Hasanat Babul, the names of the new committee were announced.
The 1433 Bangabd Executive Committee of the Comilla Cultural Alliance was formed with cultural personality Belayet Hossain Kanak as the president, theater activist and cultural figure Md. Ashiqur Rahman Shishir as the general secretary, Khelaghar organizer Kamal Chanda Khokon as the executive president, and theater activist Tanim Ahmed as the organizing secretary. The other members of the committee are presiding board members Rehana Mofiz, Amrit Lal Dutta, Yunus Ullah, humorist poet Abdul Qayyum, joint general secretary Mithila Majumder Mumu, Umme Habiba Shipu, co-organizing secretary Sabbir Ahmed, finance secretary Poppy Sutradhar, publication secretary Ed. Dilip Kumar Chanda, publicity secretary Moinuddin Khan Mahadi, hospitality secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, welfare secretary Shipon Hossain Manab, executive member Ed. Nazneen Akhter Kajal, Syeda Afroza Sultana Mili, Uttam Bohni Sen, Zahidur Rahman Mamun, Sultana Parveen Dwipali, Shafiqul Islam Jhinuk, Istiak Ahmed Pallab, Saad Bin Yusuf, Ayesha Siddika Soma, Purnima Naha, Azad Sarkar Liton, Nusrat Jahan Chowdhury.
The chief guest, Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Resources of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Amin Ur Rashid Yasin, and the guest of honor, Mr. Yusuf Molla Tipu, Founding President of the Humanitarian Organization Vivek and Honorable Administrator of Comilla City Corporation, were also present at the time, along with other leaders and guests.
The program began with the performance of the national anthem. As part of the series of activities, the event concluded with the presentation of awards to the Apanjan, special awards, distribution of prizes for the Baisakhi procession, welcome speeches by the guests and leaders of the alliance, cultural performances, and finally, the distribution of prizes among the winners of the lucky coupon phase.
