The biennial general meeting and election of Bhola’s traditional Charfassion Press Club has been held. The meeting unanimously elected Zulfikar Mahmud Niaz as the president again and Kamal Goldar as the general secretary, forming a new executive committee.
The meeting was held at 9 pm on Friday (July 17) at the Press Club auditorium in a festive atmosphere.
Although a partial committee was initially announced, the election management committee has informed that the list of the full committee will be published within the next two working days.
Three former presidents of the Press Club, Principal DM Faruk, Professor Mizanur Rahman and Habibur Rahman Selim, were in charge of conducting the election.
Earlier, a gathering was created in the presence of more than fifty senior and new members at the Press Club auditorium from 7 pm. After the biennial general meeting ended with the lively participation of the members, the process of electing the new committee began.
Among others present at the general meeting were Maulana Abdul Jalil, Shahidul Islam Dulal, Principal Kamruzzaman, Alhaj Kamal Miyaji, Redwanul Haque, Maulana Ruhul Amin, Harun Or Rashid, Ruhul Amin Babul, Sohrab Hossain Liton and Mostafizur Rahman, along with members of the press club.
