Day long journalist training workshop and certificate distribution held at Pirojpur Press Club

A day long ‘Journalism Training Workshop-2026’ and certificate distribution ceremony among the trainees have been completed in Pirojpur to improve the professional standards of journalists. The program was organized with great pomp at the Pirojpur Press Club auditorium on Saturday (July 18).

Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed was present as the chief guest at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony organized in the afternoon under the chairmanship of Pirojpur Press Club President SM Rezaul Islam Shamim. Pirojpur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Manzur Ahmed Siddiqui and D-Pirojpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Gazi Wahiduzzaman Lavlu were present as special guests at the program.

​Earlier, this training workshop was organized by the Pirojpur Press Club in the morning. The workshop was officially inaugurated by District Council Administrator Principal Alamgir Hossain in the program that began with the welcome speech of the workshop convener Mahmud Hossain.

​In this day-long workshop, sessions were conducted on four important topics to enhance the skills of local journalists.

Pirojpur’s learned Additional District Magistrate Tanzila Kabir Tropa provided training on ethics in journalism, Pirojpur’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md. Ziaur Rahman provided training on relations with the police in journalism, Deputy Director of the District Information Office Parikshit Chowdhury provided training on the basic concepts of journalism as a resource person, and agriculturist and freelance journalist Jagat Priyo Das provided training on humanitarian appeal reports and features.

​In the closing session in the afternoon, the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed, presented certificates to the journalists who completed the training.

In his speech as the chief guest, he said that the role of journalists in building society and providing objective news is immense. He expressed hope that through this training, local journalists will become more skilled and aware in performing their professional duties.

​In their speeches, the special guests emphasized the good relationship between police and journalism and maintaining ethics and morality in journalism.

Finally, President SM Rezaul Islam Shamim thanked and expressed gratitude to all those present and declared the workshop closed.
