The budget of Barura Municipality in Comilla for the financial year 2026-27 has been announced. The proposed budget of Tk 71 crore 05 lakh 64 thousand 725 of Barura Municipality has been announced without any new taxes or increases. The budget was officially announced at 12:30 pm today, Monday (June 29) in the Barura Municipality Administrator’s Room.
Municipality Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asaduzzaman Roni said that a budget of Tk 71 crore 05 lakh 64 thousand 725 has been announced to carry out various development activities of the municipality for the financial year 2026-2027 with an eye towards improving the current standard of living. In this budget, the budget money will be spent on the construction of several important infrastructures in various wards of the municipality, such as roads, drains, waste management and urban development, and to increase citizen amenities.
The budget was announced by Municipal Administrator and Upazila Executive Officer Asaduzzaman Roni under the chairmanship of Barura Municipal Executive Officer Md. Mohsinur Rahman Khan.

Present at the event were Barura Upazila BNP General Secretary Syed Jahirul Haque Swapan, Barura Municipality BNP General Secretary Mofizul Islam, Barura Bazar Business Committee President Humayun Kabir Patwary, Barura Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Sajedur Rahman, Barura Thana Officer-in-Charge Kazi Nazmul Haque, Barura Upazila Engineer, Local Government and Engineering Department Shahidul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Kamrul Hasan Roni, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Borhan Uddin Bhuiyan, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Jahangir Alam, Municipality Accounting Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman, Municipality Chief Assistant Chhagir Hossain, along with municipal officials and employees, journalist leaders.
