A Z M Shafiuddin Shamim, a new face in the Comilla-8 Barura constituency, has received the party nomination of Bangladesh Awami League in the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections. He is the Vice President of Comilla South District Awami League. AZM Shafiuddin Shamim was born on January 10, 1969 in a traditional noble Muslim family in Adda village of Barura upazila of Comilla district. Father Alhaj MA Quader and mother Shireen Akhter. His father was an industrialist, educationist and social worker. who started business in 1961 after completing his graduation from Comilla Victoria Government College. He spent his childhood, student life and colorful career in Thakurpara in Comilla city due to his father’s business and later in Dhaka. Like his father, he is one of the enlightened people of the area. He completed Secondary from Comilla District School and Higher Secondary from Comilla Government College and BA (Honours) in Marketing from Dhaka University, Post Graduate First Class and Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of West Scotland. Though brilliant in studies like his grandfather and father, he was closely involved in student politics in Dhaka University. As a result of which later he was nominated as one of the members of the Advisory Committee of Dhaka Metropolitan (North) Awami League Branch No. 19 Ward Awami League. At present, he has gained the love and trust of the people of Apamar by accepting the responsibility of vice-president of Comilla South District Awami League.

A Z M Shafiuddin Shamim got married to Afroza Sultana in 1995. His consort Afroza Sultana is a highly educated wit and compassionate personality. They are the proud parents of an only child. Their talented son A Z M Shahi Quader is studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, where he has always left a mark of talent.

A Z M Shafiq Uddin Shamim has a consistent and illustrious family tradition, which continues even today. He is an educationist, philanthropist and devoted social worker. His grandfather established the Boalia Batenia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa in 1946 to spread the light of humanity, generosity and holiness through religious education. It is one of the oldest madrassas in Comilla district and has played an important role in spreading Islamic education and inculcating religious values in the region. His father, late MA Quader, was adopted in 1939 into a traditional and noble family in Adda village, Barura, Comilla district. He started his business after passing his secondary from Perpeti High School in 1958, higher secondary from Chandpur Government College and B.Com from traditional Comilla Government College in 1960 and achieved success after success. He was an entrepreneur educationist of the industrial population, a humanitarian social worker. He was a beacon in spreading education among the people of Adda in his union, who donated land to build a hospital in his village Adda. In 1994, he donated 2.43 acres of land and founded Adda Degree College with his own funds to spread the light of education among the local people. Every year, numerous students pass out from here with merit and take up higher education and work in government and private institutions and play a positive role in the development of the country and nation through their dedication and competence. This invincible humanitarian, compassionate, great and short-lived personality passed away on March 20, 2001. At the time of his death, he left behind numerous well-wishers and well-wishers including his wife, four sons and a daughter. A Z M Shafiuddin Shamim is the eldest among the worthy children of Alok Ujjal parents.

His brother Sohail Ahmed holds MBA degree from University of California, Newport, USA and his wife Mahbooba Begum holds Bachelors and Masters in Zoology from National University and 12 years as Head of IT Infrastructure Operations Asia Pacific at Colgate Palmolive Limited Australia. observed His wife Dr. Farzana Quader is a Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and is currently serving as a general practitioner in Liverpool, Sydney, Australia.

His younger brother A ZM obtained M.Com from Nurul Quader National University and his wife BBA from Northern University and later MBA from Australia. Also his only sister Ismart Zerin graduated from National University and is a respected director of SQ Group under whose leadership the factory operations of the group are being run successfully. Their only brother-in-law Taufiq Hasan who graduated with Honors and Masters degree from Dhaka University started his career as BCS Cadre and is working as Director General (Joint Secretary) of Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs in East Asia and Pacific Wing.
