8 Myanmar nationals arrested for attempting to infiltrate through Naikyangchhari border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested eight Myanmar nationals on charges of infiltrating Bangladesh through the Ghumdhum border in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar, and Naikyangchhari, Bandarban. 
They were arrested on Friday (July 10) afternoon from an area called Gachabunia, adjacent to border pillar number 41 in ward number 8 of Ghumdhum Union.The BGB said the detainees claimed to be members of Myanmar. They were handed over to Naikyangchhari police station in the evening.The arrested persons are—1. Mongba Tangchangga (34), father-Mongsaching, village-Medek, 2. Mongm (20), father-Khingla, village-Medei, 3. Kingla Thuaing (21), father-Thingsa Mong, village-Medei, 4. Rupar (19), father-deceased.-Muringga, village-Medek, 5. Thaingsa Mong (40), father-deceased. Chazaila, village-Wakeng, 6. Tuli (20), father-Thingsa Mong, village-Wakeng, 7. Tantanaing (20), father-Thingsa Mong, village-Wakeng, 8. Mongta Naing (20), father-Thingsa Mong, village-Wakeng All police stations-Dekibunya, District-Mawlamyine, Myanmar. However, among the detained individuals, a Bangladeshi citizen named Mongba Tangchanga presented his fake national identity card and birth registration to the BGB. No match was found on his national identity card and birth registration.
Naiksyangchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mozammel said, “Cox’s Bazar 34 BGB has handed over eight people to us. A case is being filed for border infiltration.” 
“It will be verified whether they are members of any Myanmar forces.” Some residents of the Ghumdhum border said that around noon today, eight Myanmar nationals crossed the barbed wire border in Rakhine State and entered Bangladesh. Later, they crossed the border pillar number 41 and took shelter in the Gachabunia area. Locals said they had fled to save their lives due to the conflict in their own Rakhine state. Upon receiving the information, a patrol team of Rejupara BOP under Cox’s Bazar 34 BGB went to the spot and arrested them. Cox’s Bazar 34 BGB Commander Lt. Col. SM Khairul Alam PBGM, PSC said, the detained persons are citizens of Myanmar. However, it is not yet confirmed whether they are members of any Myanmar force. They have been handed over to the police station and a case has been registered against them at the police station today, July 11.
