SB-Sujon, Lalmonirhat : National Rural Development Day was celebrated in Lalmonirhat with colorful arrangements. On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally started from the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises on Monday morning and ended at the same place after circumambulating the main roads of the city.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rashedul Haque Pradhan addressed the discussion meeting organized in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner as the chief guest.
Superintendent of Police Md. Asaduzzaman, District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque and Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdul Hakim were present as special guests at the program. Deputy Director of the District Rural Development Board AKM Shamim presided over the meeting.
After the discussion meeting, loan checks of 1 lakh 25 thousand taka were distributed to each of the 13 beneficiaries under the self-employment program. In addition, saplings of different species of trees were distributed among 120 people.
Officials of various government departments, officials and employees of the Rural Development Board, journalists and people from different classes and professions were present at the time. The speakers at the discussion meeting emphasized on the various initiatives of the government for the development of the rural economy, employment generation and sustainable rural development.
