BGB and people’s joint guard in tight position to prevent push-in

Border Guard Bangladesh – BGB has prevented an attempt by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to illegally push 11 people into Bangladesh at the Haripur border in Thakurgaon. Dinajpur Battalion 42 BGB gave this information in a press release on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Quoting BGB information, the BGB said that at around 3:30 am on June 5, the BSF tried to force 11 people into Bangladesh near border pillar 349/7-S in the area under the responsibility of the Mashalgaon BOP in Haripur upazila. On receiving the information, a BGB patrol team quickly reached the spot, identified them and prevented them from entering Bangladesh.

The people who were prevented include four men, four women and three children. The BGB said that they are currently staying about 50 yards inside the zero line of the Indian border. During initial interrogation, the people said that they lived in the Dum Dum area of ​​West Bengal, India. On May 26, Indian law enforcement agencies took them into custody and kept them at a specific location. There were about 200 people staying there. Later, they were taken to various areas along the border. They claim that they were taken to the Bahrgaon camp of the 87th BSF Battalion in a police vehicle and kept there for a day. When they were sent towards the border on the night of June 6, they tried to enter Bangladesh. Dinajpur Battalion 42 BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Moin Hasan said that patrolling activities have been intensified by issuing maximum alert in the border area. A flag meeting is underway at the company commander level between the BGB and the BSF regarding these incidents. He said that the BGB is always on alert to prevent any kind of illegal infiltration and push-ins at the border. The BGB called on the media and local administration to cooperate with the people of all walks of life to prevent illegal push-ins. Meanwhile, the BSF is getting desperate to send people to Bangladesh by disguising the check post of Dharmaghar Union in Ranisankail Upazila through the Sahanbagh Parsol border. In addition, the push-in attempt of BSF in Pirganj, Ranishankail and Baliadangi border areas has failed. BGB and people of the border area have jointly guarded the area to prevent the push-in. However, BGB and locals are on the highest alert. Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB is on high alert and patrolling. Confirming the matter, Habildar Mohammad Khairul Islam of Thakurgaon Battalion 50 BGB said.
