Awareness rally held in Kaptai to prevent dengue

With the theme of “Keeping the surroundings clean, we will cure dengue”, a dengue awareness rally was held in Kaptai, Rangamati, like the rest of the country. The rally was organized on Saturday (June 6) at 10:30 am by the initiative of Kaptai Upazila Health Complex and with the overall support of the upazila administration. The rally started from the premises of the Upazila Health Complex, circled the main road of Kaptai and ended at the health complex. Kaptai Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Royhla Ang Marma presided over the rally, and Upazila Administrative Officer Barun Kanti Chakma was present as the representative of the Upazila Executive Officer. At that time, health workers of the Comprehensive Community Health Program (CCHP) under the management of Bijoy Marma, Program Manager of the Comprehensive Community Health Program (CCHP), also participated in the rally. The rally was attended by Upazila Health Complex physician Dr. Omar Faruk Rony, hospital officials and employees, nurses and workers related to healthcare at various levels. At the end of the rally, the speakers emphasized on keeping the house and surrounding environment clean, removing stagnant water and increasing public awareness to prevent dengue. In one context, Kaptai Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Royhla Ang Marma said that currently a total of 15 doctors, including 7 medical officers and 3 consultants, are working in Kaptai Upazila Health Complex. In addition, 5 out of 23 nurses are in higher training. He said that the hospital’s healthcare activities are being conducted by a team of 52 officials and employees.
