A high-level government ‘inspection committee’ has inspected the site and infrastructure of the proposed ‘Joypurhat Government Medical College’ to fulfill the long-cherished dream of the people of Joypurhat.
On Thursday morning, a delegation led by Professor Dr. Md. Saki Md. Zakirul Alam, Director of the Medical Education Division of the Directorate of Health Education and President of the inspection committee, Director (Medical Education) of the Directorate of Health Education, inspected the proposed area adjacent to the Medical Assistant Training School in Khetlalastha, Joypurhat and the land of the 250-bed Joypurhat General Hospital.

Professor Dr. Md. Zakir Hossain, Associate Professor of Rajshahi Medical College Dr. Sardar Abu Horaira, Associate Professor of Dinajpur Medical College Dr. Abu Saleh Golam Rabbani, Assistant Director of the Department of Health Education Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, District Council Administrator and District BNP Senior Joint Convener Masud Rana Pradhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nurul Islam, District BNP Convener Golzar Hossain, Superintendent of Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital Dr. Rashed Mubarak Jewel, Civil Surgeon Office M.O. Dr. Zubair Md. Al Faisal.
The delegation thoroughly inspected the infrastructure, academic buildings, student dormitories and places designated for the hospital for the proposed medical college. After the site inspection, the committee members expressed satisfaction and said that they would submit a report with their final opinions to the concerned ministry within the stipulated 7 (seven) working days.
​The people of Joypurhat are overflowing with joy as the process of implementing this groundbreaking and visible step of establishing a modern and complete government medical college in Joypurhat has begun.
