On February 28, 2022, the then cabinet approved the draft law to establish a university. Then, on February 7, 2023, the bill was passed in the National Parliament. Later, due to lack of proper communication, the university was on the verge of closure. But on October 7, 2024, after the accession of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hasanat Ali, the triumphant journey of development began. Various development-oriented works including changing the name of Naogaon University, land acquisition, and student admission work began. Office and academic buildings have been taken for administrative activities. All office activities are being conducted smoothly. About 1,600 students have expressed interest in taking admission in this university this year. Approval has been obtained from the Ministry of Education for the acquisition of 96.81 acres of land in Naogaon Sadar Upazila for the construction of a permanent campus of the university. Now it is the turn of building construction. A discussion meeting on the integrated survey project of Naogaon University was held for the purpose of constructing the campus building. On Monday, May 18, at noon, this discussion meeting was held at the Naogaon District Council Auditorium under the chairmanship of Naogaon University Vice Chancellor Hasanat Ali and was organized by the university with prominent figures of Naogaon district.
District Council Administrator Abubakar Siddique Nannu, University Syndicate Member MP Fazle Huda Babul, MP Rezaul Islam Reju and MP Engineer Enamul Haque were present at the discussion meeting.
Before starting the new building, VC Hasanat Ali presented photographs of the campus building construction project and informed everyone that today’s arrangement is so that there is no corruption in the construction of this university building. I want to take the university forward with everyone in Naogaon. In the discussion meeting, District Council Administrator Abubakar Siddique Nannu, members of parliament and people from different walks of life expressed their opinions. University Registrar Dr. Alauddin, District BNP General Secretary Mamunur Rahman Ripon and people from different walks of life of the district were present.
