Moulvibazar Correspondent: A case has been filed at Moulvibazar Model Police Station (FIR No. 34, Date: 28/10/2024 (GR Case No. 34/324) against the anti-discrimination movement in Moulvibazar. The police of Moulvibazar Model Police Station have arrested Awami League leader Ripon Baks, the accused in the case. He was arrested from his own house after conducting a raid last night. It is learned that on October 28, 2024, Sathi Akhter, one of the leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, filed this case at Moulvibazar Model Police Station as the plaintiff. He was made the accused in the case No. 21. He is the son of Md. Firuz Baks of Kamalakalas village, Nazirabad union, 10th, Moulvibazar Sadar upazila. A source revealed that Ripon Baksgangra has been creating a kind of atmosphere of panic in the area by exerting political influence for a long time. Recently, Hail Ripon Box and his brothers attacked the land owned by the late Lutfur Rahman’s family in the Haor area. However, the Moulvibazar Land Survey Tribunal Court confirmed the legal ownership of the land in favor of the late Lutfur Rahman’s family through the judgment and decree. In addition, the Moulvibazar Sadar Court issued a temporary ban on the disputed land and later issued a permanent ban order and decree to preserve the peaceful possession and ownership of the land. Even after the temporary ban was issued, separate complaints were filed against the family members of the late Lutfur Rahman for assault, intimidation and torture. According to the documents received, Ripon Box is the main accused in a controversial murder case (GR-29/22) filed in 2022.
