“Litfiesta-2026” was held at the International Standard University (ISU) to encourage literature, culture and creative practice. The day-long event at the ISU Auditorium on Monday saw the campus filled with drama, poetry recitation, guest lectures and cultural performances.
ISU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan and Registrar Md. Faizullah Kaushik unveiled the champions and runners-up trophies. ISU’s English Department Associate Professor and Head A.S.M. Sadul Quader and advertising and drama director Boni Chowdhury served as judges for the event.
The speakers said that beyond the boundaries of textbooks, literature and culture play an important role in the personality development of students. Such events help in increasing students’ self-confidence, acquiring leadership qualities and developing creative thinking.
In the program, students staged various plays and literary works of Bengali and English literature and won the appreciation of the audience. In addition, through plays, poetry recitations and character portrayals, they showcased their creativity, linguistic skills and literary sense, which made the program more lively.
At the end of the day-long lively program, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions. Champion in the recitation competition: Mosha. Fatematuz-Zohra Tithi, runner-up: Umme Ayesha Falguni and Silvana Swarnali. Champion in the speech competition: Rahi Rahman, runner-up: Afrin Islam. Drama champions: Team Snigdhya and Neelima, runner-up: Team Nafisa, Riya and Bushra. Chairpersons of various departments of the university, teachers, students and officials were present at the program.
