The new Police Superintendent (SP) of Mymensingh held a courtesy and exchange of views meeting with the journalists of the district.
The meeting was held on Saturday (March 14) at the conference room (hall room) of the district police.
In the meeting, journalists working in the district presented various aspects of the law and order situation in Mymensingh to the new Police Superintendent. The media workers demanded strict steps to eliminate drug syndicates in cities and villages, close illegal gambling dens, reduce unbearable traffic congestion and stop the growing menace of juvenile gangs. They were called upon to play an important role in reducing traffic congestion, especially before Eid. The media workers presented images of traffic jams in various areas including Charpara intersection, Ganginapar, Bridge intersection.
New Police Superintendent Mohammad Kamrul Hasan listened attentively to the problems raised by the journalists. He said, “If the police and journalists work shoulder to shoulder, it will be easier to eradicate crime from the society. The police will adopt a zero tolerance policy to maintain peace and order in Mymensingh.”
Superintendent of Police Kamrul Hasan, in his speech, sought the overall cooperation of journalists in performing their professional duties and urged them to assist the police in their work through objective journalism. At the same time, he assured the journalists of all kinds of informational and security support from the police.
Senior officials of the district police and journalists of various print and electronic media working in Mymensingh were present at the event.
