Running through the fog on a cool winter morning. The destination is Bogra, the holy land of the north. The objective is to put aside the busyness of professional life and spend some time with colleagues and family.

On Saturday (January 24), the annual family get-together-2026 of Rajshahi Barendra Press Club was held at Bogra’s ‘Mom Inn’ Park in such a joyful atmosphere.

The park premises were filled with various events, laughter and fun throughout the day.

This club, consisting of 102 members, organized this event like every year to keep their unity and family bonds intact. Along with the members of the press club, their wives, children and family members also joined in this joy.

The festive atmosphere started from the morning. Children had the opportunity to ride various rides in the pleasant environment of the park. And the adults enjoyed chatting and reminiscing.

In a short meeting organized in the afternoon after lunch, the speakers said that journalism is a challenging profession. While chasing news all the time, it is not possible to give much time to the family. Such arrangements act as a tonic to increase mutual affection among colleagues and relieve fatigue.

Kazi Shahed, advisor and senior journalist of Rajshahi Barendra Press Club, was present as an invited guest at the event. He said, “The working methods of Rajshahi Barendra Press Club and the sincerity among the members impress me. That is why I am associated with this club as an advisor. Every member of this club works as a complement to each other, which is exemplary for many other organizations. This family atmosphere of theirs is truly rare and deserves praise.”

Rajshahi Barendra Press Club President Rezaul Karim and General Secretary Shamsul Islam said that such an event is not only a means of entertainment, but also creates a cordial atmosphere by removing professional hatred or distance among colleagues. Only a united press club can ensure an environment of objective journalism and play a strong role in realizing the rights of journalists.

Those concerned expect that the example set by Rajshahi Barendra Press Club in strengthening social and family ties along with professional excellence will be a new milestone in the country’s journalist community.

About two hundred people, including the leaders of the executive committee of the press club, general members and their families, were present at the event.

This joyous procession ended with the sunset in the late afternoon. However, on the way back, everyone had peace and a lot of colorful memories on their faces.
