Training workshop for polling officers held in Kaptai on 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026

A day-long training workshop was held in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati for presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.
The training workshop was organized at Karnaphuli Government College in Kaptai Upazila on Sunday (January 25) at 10 am. The workshop was organized by the Election Training Institute, Agargaon, Dhaka. The implementation was carried out by the Senior District Election Office, Rangamati and the Upazila Election Office, Kaptai. Rangamati Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Nazma Ashrafi was present as the chief guest at the training workshop.
Rangamati District Superintendent of Police Md. Abdur Rakib PPM, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Jahedul Islam PPS and Senior District Election Officer Md. Shafiqur Rahman. Kaptai Upazila Executive Officer and Returning Officer Md. Ruhul Amin presided over the training workshop, which was conducted by Kaptai Upazila Election Officer Mita Parial. Kaptai Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Neli Rudra was present at the time. Speaking as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Nazma Ashrafi sincerely thanked all the Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and Polling Officers who participated in the training workshop. She said that no responsibility can be performed beyond the responsibilities and guidelines given in the training. The administration has taken all necessary preparations to complete the election in a free, fair and peaceful manner. She sought the cooperation of all polling officers to make the election process successful by performing their duties with honesty, impartiality and professionalism. It was informed in the training workshop that a total of 335 officers will be responsible for polling in Kaptai Upazila. Of these, 23 are presiding officers, 104 are assistant presiding officers and 208 are polling officers.
Elections will be held in a total of 22 polling stations in five unions of Kaptai upazila – Chandraghona, Raikhali, Chitmaram, Kaptai and Wagga – under Rangamati-299 parliamentary constituency. The total number of polling stations in these centers is 99, of which 89 are permanent and 10 are temporary. The total number of voters in this upazila, including postal votes, is 50,959. Of these, 669 are postal voters. The training workshop discussed in detail the voting process, distribution of responsibilities, legal issues, things to do on voting day and maintaining discipline during the election.
