According to government information, this impressive building was built in 1879 with iron and wood. Rabindranath Tagore, Lord Curzon and countless other luminaries visited this building on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. But due to lack of renovation for many years, the structure is on the verge of destruction day by day. Many parts of the building have already been damaged. Many valuable items have been stolen. However, although this structure came under the control of the Department of Archaeology in 2028, no development work has been done on this structure so far.

Incidentally, the landlord of Muktagachha, Maharaja Suryakanta Acharya Chowdhury, built this two-story building about 150 years ago to celebrate the town’s jubilee festival.
