The district administration has seized 380 bags of DAP fertilizer while transporting it in a truck without a valid invoice in Thakurgaon. In this incident, the truck driver and assistant have been fined Tk 13,000 as per the Fertilizer Management Act. The seized fertilizer has been ordered to be confiscated in favor of the government. On Sunday (July 26, 2026) night, a drive was conducted in front of the Chabbis Tubewell area of ​​Sadar Upazila on the Thakurgaon-Dinajpur highway and the fertilizer-filled truck was seized. Later, the fertilizer truck was taken to the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises. It is learned that the fertilizers were being transported from Bhaular Hat in Sadar Upazila towards Dinajpur. During the drive, the truck driver could not show any valid invoice or necessary documents for transporting the fertilizer. As a result, the truck driver Babu and assistant Sumon were fined and released. But the fertilizer worth about Tk 4 lakh in the truck was confiscated. The truck driver and assistant are from Kushtia district. Sadar Upazila Commissioner (Land) Md. Ashadul Haque said that DAP fertilizer transported without a valid invoice has been confiscated. He said that the fertilizers will be sold to local farmers at the government-determined price. The entire amount of the sale will be deposited in the government treasury. At that time, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Khairul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Nasirul Islam and members of Sadar Police Station were present.
