World Settlement Day was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with the theme “Sustainable cities are the driving force for the growth and recovery of sustainable urban economy”.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) AKM Galiv Khan was the chief guest at the day’s discussion meeting organized by Chapainawabganj District Commissioner and Public Works Department on Monday (October 2) morning.
On the occasion of celebrating the World Habitat Day, the rally started from in front of the District Commissioner’s office premises and ended at the same place after the circuit of important roads of the district town. After that, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam. Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Kalam Shahid, brave freedom fighter Abdus Samad, Chapainawabganj Public Works Directorate Executive Engineer AM Iftekhar Majid were present. Representatives of government departments and various organizations and journalists from print and electronic media were also present.
