Upon receiving the information, the police rescued the seriously injured victim Rocky and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
The injured Dulal Hossain Rocky Morkun is the son of Ali Azgar of Tekpara area. He is an auto-rickshaw driver by profession.
Rocky’s wife, Tanjima Akhter Jhinuk, who is in police custody, is the daughter of Zakaria Islam of Bogargut village under Raipura police station in Narsingdi district. She is a garment worker by profession.
Police said that there had been a long-standing marital dispute between the husband and wife over her immorality and extramarital affairs. On the day of the incident, they had a heated argument over these issues. Later, when Rocky was sleeping, the husband cut off her private parts with a sharp knife in the middle of the night. At that time, when the locals came forward to hear Rocky’s screams, they brought the blood-stained knife and the cut private parts to the police station. Later, the police rescued the seriously injured Rocky and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment with the help of the locals. Currently, his physical condition is critical.
In this regard, Tongi East Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Hasan said that legal action is under process in this sensational incident.
