12 days after the half-melted body of an unidentified woman was found in Kalukhali of Rajbari on October 5, the Kalukhali police arrested the accused and unraveled the mystery of the clueless murder case.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Md. Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter in a press briefing at Rajbari Police Superintendent’s conference room on 18th October (Wednesday).
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mukit Sarkar, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Pansha Circle) Suman Kumar Saha, OC Kalukhali Police Station Pranabandhu Chandra Biswas and local print and electronic media journalists were present in the press conference.
Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Rezaul Karim said that on October 5th, at 7:15 in the evening, a half-melted dead body of a woman was found in the paddy field in Kawyokhola area under Kalukhali police station of the district.
There was no information to identify the body. Local news media and social media, even by miking, no information is available. Later, the Kalukhali police station filed a murder case on October 7 as the plaintiff and the police started a thorough investigation. After intensive investigation, Md. A. Rahim Mondal (65), son of deceased Tacher Ali Mondal, son of Jagirkaya village of Pangsha upazila of Pangsha upazila, was arrested on 17th October from Baraichara area under Kalukhali police station. Arrested Md. Rahim Mandal admitted to the police that the half-melted dead body was Fahima (41), son of Seken Fakir of Tujarpur area of Bhanga police station of Faridpur district.
About 3 years ago Ah Rahim Mandal and Fahima were in Qatar. While staying in Qatar, Fahima borrowed 2 lakh 10 thousand taka in Bangladeshi taka from Rahim Mandal. There was contact between them after coming to the country. Ah Rahim asks Fahima for the money he owes, then Fahima starts making excuses to pay the money, then Ah Rahim gets angry and plans to kill Fahima. As per the plan, Ah Rahim Mandal lured Fahima to Pancha on September 30th at 9:00 PM. Later, Fahima was killed by strangling her in the paddy field of Sobahan Mandal under Pangsha police station and cleverly left her ID card, mobile, photo and vanity bag at different places to hide the body, arrested from different areas of Kalukhali police station, according to the information given by Md. Rahim Mandal. was rescued.
