Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin said that Bangladesh is moving forward in all directions under the visionary and capable leadership of the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh has become a role model for development in the world by developing roads and railways, increasing per capita income, increasing average life expectancy and education rate. He said that as a result of the special initiative of the government, the village has now become a city.
The Minister of Environment said these things while addressing the chief guest at the doa mahfil on the occasion of the auspicious inauguration of the newly-constructed academic building of Haji Sona Mia-Aptarunnecha High School of Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar district on Saturday (August 12) and the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Environment Minister said that according to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s announcement, smart citizens are needed to make Bangladesh a smart Bangladesh. To be a smart citizen one must be well educated. Mentioning that numerous educational institutions have been built across the country, including Baralekha and Juri, the minister said to the students that to build the Sonar Bangla of the father of the nation’s dream, one should make himself qualified by taking real education.
Md. Shamsul Arefin Khan, Executive Engineer of Directorate of Education and Engineering of Moulvibazar district spoke on the occasion among others. Upazila Executive Officer Ranjan Chandra Dey, Upazila Awami League President Masuk Miah and the founder member of the school Advocate Abdur Rahman etc.
Besides, the Environment Minister inaugurated the newly constructed academic building of Jiban Jyotinagar High School of Juri Upazila and distributed tree plantation and saplings.
