Md. Mokaddesur Rahman Rocky Jessore: There have been allegations of widespread irregularities in the auction sale of useless goods at Jessore Airport. There have been allegations of giving work orders to the fourth bidder in violation of the rules without giving work to the highest bidder. As a result, the government has been deprived of a large amount of revenue in this case. The highest bidder, Mahbub Alam, owner of Jessore’s MR International, has submitted a written complaint to the chairman of Biman’s Dhaka Kurmitola CAAB headquarters in this regard. The written complaint states that on July 30, a notice was published in the Daily Sangram newspaper stating that unusable brick, sand and stone waste materials would be sold at auction under the management of Jessore Airport. According to the published notice, on August 18, 6 organizations including Mahbub Alam, owner of Jessore’s contracting company MR International. Among them, MR International submitted a bid of 12 lakh 75 thousand taka and was selected as the highest bidder. However, instead of giving the work order to the highest bidder, the fourth bidder, M/s Araf Trading of Dhaka, was given the work order by increasing the bid in a strategic manner. Some contractors who did not want to be named alleged that this was completely illegal and illegal. The bid of M/s Araf Trading, which participated in the auction, was initially 1 million taka and the pay order was 80 thousand taka. Later, however, the pay order was increased by another 20 thousand taka through fraud. Mahbub Alam, the owner of MR International, claimed that the work order was given to M/s Araf Trading through a special arrangement through fraud in collusion with some greedy officials of the port. He alleged that M/s Araf Trading, with the help of the officials involved in the illegal work order, is delivering additional goods along with the auctioned goods on holidays and in the dark of night. Although the officials are getting additional benefits from this, the government is being harmed. Moreover, the matter is completely illegal and illegal in the Tender Act. Especially, although there is no rule for taking delivery of government auctioned goods on holidays and in the dark of night, in this case, illegality has been legitimized in a special system. Contractor Mahbub Alam further said in his complaint, so that I do not complain anywhere, Jessore Airport Manager Saidur Rahman and Engineer Enamul Kabir are threatening me in various ways and are also threatening to hand me over to the administration. Even then, I ignored all the threats and complained to the chairman of the Dhaka Kurmitola CAAB headquarters, ACC chairman, Jessore District Commissioner, Kotwali Model Police Station and other relevant offices. He said that I have sought justice, God willing, truth will prevail. When contacted on mobile, Jessore Airport Manager Saidur Rahman said in response to journalists’ questions, “I will not give any statement on this matter. You should talk to the public relations officer of our headquarters. Because our headquarters has taken a decision on this matter. Therefore, I have no involvement here.”
