The accused in the Gias murder case in Kamalganj are out on bail and attempting to seize land

Mosahid Ahmed, Moulvibazar: Jamal Mia (35) and Badsha Mia (29), the main accused in the Gias murder case over a land dispute in Kamalganj, have become reckless again after being released on bail by the Gangra learned court. They are trying to forcibly occupy the disputed land and threatening the plaintiff in the case. The victimized expatriate family filed a written complaint with Kamalganj Police Station on January 26. On the afternoon of January 28, Kamalganj Police reached the spot and after finding the truth of the complainant’s complaint, prohibited the accused in the murder case who were granted bail from building houses on the disputed land. The locals are afraid that a major accident could happen at any time. It is learned that Gias Mia, a neighbor, was killed with a sharp weapon on 09/12/18 due to a land dispute in Barachek village of Rahimpur Union, No. 1, Kamalganj Upazila, Moulvibazar district. In this incident, Saleha Begum, wife of deceased Gias Mia, filed a case (Case No. 08, Date: 10/12/18) with Kamalganj Police Station, accusing Jamal Mia (35), Badsha Mia (29), Sujan Mia (20), Sajjadur Rahman (50), Ansarun Begum (42), Sohel Mia (25), Hazera Begum (25) and 3/4 unidentified people. The victim, expatriate Jasim Uddin and his son Abdullah Emon Sani, said – Jamal Mia (35) and Badsha Mia (29) are involved in injustice, torture, oppression and land grabbing after being released on bail from the Gangra learned court. On January 17, at approximately 10 am, a resident of Baracheg, attempted to build a tin-set house by forcibly occupying a plot of land measuring 600 square meters in Barshijora Pahar, JL No. 1, Khatian No. 159, Dag No. 519, in Baracheg. When he was asked to stop, he abused him in obscene language and tried to beat him with sticks and sticks, but he fled the scene to save his life. In this incident, a case (FIR No. 08/2026, dated 26/01/2026, and Kamalganj General Diary No. 1006, dated 26/01/2026) has been registered at Kamalganj Police Station. When asked about this, Jamal Mia said, “My documents are all in order, so the house is being constructed.” When asked about this, Hamid of Kamalganj Police Station said, “Jamal Mia was in prison in a murder case. After being granted bail, they started the construction of the house. The victim’s family has filed a complaint with the police station. The national elections are ahead. Jamal Mia, the opponent, has been asked to stop the work because the conflicting issue has not been resolved.
