Mosahid Ahmed, Moulvibazar: Questions have been raised about the security of Moulvibazar court premises. A trial seeker was attacked by terrorists inside the Bar No. 1 building of the District Bar Association. The attackers, armed with machetes, rods and knives, openly stabbed and injured him and fled. The Moulvibazar District Bar Association said in a protest letter issued on June 9, 2026, that yesterday (Monday, June 8, 2026) at 2.15 pm, some terrorists entered the Bar No. 1 building of the association with country-made weapons. They attacked Jasim Khan, a trial seeker from Haridatta village of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station, stabbed and injured him with the weapons in their hands and ran away. The bitter Jasim Khan was rescued and quickly sent to the hospital. It is known that he has serious head injuries. The lawyers and other trial seeker people present at the bar at the time of the incident were shocked. The Bar Association says that the immediate terrorist incident has created deep concern and fear among the lawyers present at the bar, other trial-seeking people and all the learned members of the Moulvibazar District Bar Association due to such insecurity. The protest letter signed by the President of the association, Mizanur Rahman Advocate and General Secretary Md. Joynul Haque Advocate, strongly condemned and protested this heinous terrorist incident. At the same time, a strong demand has been made to take legal action against the responsible persons subject to an immediate and fair investigation of the incident. They have also sought immediate urgent intervention of the administration to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. A copy of the protest letter has been sent to the District and Sessions Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and the officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Model Police Station.
