Registered teachers from batches 1–12 in Sylhet have raised their voices against the recently issued controversial recruitment notice by the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) through a human chain and press conference. The event was held in front of the National Press Club, with participation from Sylhet BGTA executive members including Gan-Amir Hossain, Nilima Chakraborty, MJM Yasin, Abdul Amin Pakhi, Shah Alam, Abdul Amin Hatemi, among others.
During the protest, speakers alleged that the NTRCA’s recently published statement was unreliable, misleading, and deliberately crafted. They claimed that while genuine registered teachers have long been ignored, irregular and fraudulent certificate holders are being appointed in various institutions, depriving rightful candidates of their opportunities.

Despite a government directive to relax age limits, proper action was not taken in issuing certificates.
The Supreme Court’s 2019 directive (Case No. 3900/2019) was not properly implemented.
NTRCA collected substantial funds by allowing applications to multiple colleges and madrasas, but later imposed restrictions that left a large number of registered teachers without appointments.
The affected teachers stated that misleading notices, legal complications, and administrative mismanagement have long disrupted their livelihoods, and teaching is their only means of survival. They called for urgent intervention from the Prime Minister and the Chief Adviser, declaring that they will continue their movement until a fair solution to the recruitment issues is achieved.
