​Mirsarai Correspondent : ​In a special drive conducted by the Jorarganj Thana Police in Mirsarai, Chittagong, a designated drug dealer named Faisal Ahmed (40) was arrested with 800 pieces of Yaba pills. He was apprehended around 3:30 AM on Wednesday (June 17) from the front of Uttara Bus Stand in the Uttar Sonapahar area of Baraiyarhat Municipality under the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
​The arrestee, Faisal Ahmed, is the son of the late Fazal Kabir, hailing from the Dakshin Hajipara area (10nd Jhilongjha UP) under Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station. Currently, he has been residing in the Tarabuniyachhara area under Ward No. 7 of Cox’s Bazar Municipality.
​According to police sources, the special operation was carried out under the direct guidance of Assistant Superintendent of Police (Mirsarai Circle) Nadim Haider Chowdhury and Jorarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Halim. During the operation, PSI Kamrul Hasan and his accompanying force were conducting a search duty on the highway when Faisal Ahmed’s movements appeared suspicious. Upon intercepting and searching him, 800 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from his possession.
​Jorarganj Police stated that a case under the Narcotics Control Act has been filed against the arrested accused, and he has been forwarded to the learned court through the due legal process. The police further added that such combing operations and their zero-tolerance policy against drugs will continue to curb the spread of narcotics.
