South Korea, Bangladesh sign MoU

Desk news: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea and the Ministry of Land of the Government of Bangladesh on the implementation of digitized cadastral survey and integrated land information management system at the 2025 K-GEO Festa held in South Korea on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. This opened a new horizon in land services in the country.

Adyah (Wednesday) local time 9.15: Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land of the Government of Bangladesh ASM Saleh Ahmed and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea Mr LEE Sang Kyeong signed the MoU.

The signing of this MoU has paved the way for conducting digitized land survey and implementing integrated land information management system in the entire country. Through this, Bangladesh’s land management has taken another step towards 100% digitalization.

It is considered to be the greatest survey in the history of Bangladesh. Land surveys are conducted approximately every 25 years. The new survey that has started in Bangladesh will be done completely digitally. Bangladesh Digital Survey is basically a modern digital survey program related to land, which the Ministry of Land is conducting with the aim of modernizing and digitizing land management.

As a result, through modern technology, land information is stored digitally, ownership verification and land management becomes more transparent, efficient and people-friendly. Its main objective is to reduce land disputes, ensure the accuracy of documents and records, and reduce people’s suffering through citizen service automation. It is also a system to collect and store accurate and updated information about the amount, location, usability and classification of land in a digital manner.
