Moshahid Ahmed:
The torrential rains that have descended from the upstream have left only water and water all around. Houses have been submerged, paddy fields have been destroyed, and the stoves are not burning. When the helpless people are lost, “Sheikh Nur Alam, a peddler of humanity”, stood by them like a ray of light in the darkness. On the afternoon of July 18, about 69 people distributed cash to the flood-affected people in the flash flood-affected areas of Rajnagar, Bhangarhat and Akua. The cries of the people in some areas of Rajnagar and Moulvibazar Sadar who were affected by the flash flood touched his heart. So, even sitting in London, he rushed to them as much as he could. He gave food aid, dry food. Not only cash, he gave courage, he gave hope. He declared – I am with you. Sheikh Nur Alam’s initiative to wipe away the tears of those who lost everything in the flash floods is truly heart-warming. It’s not about politics, not about positions, it’s just about people’s love for people. Some old people from Bhangarhat and Akua areas of Rajnagar Upazila cried and said, “Father, where would we have gone if you hadn’t stood by our side in these difficult times?” Yes, that’s our Sheikh Nur Alam. He is the candidate for the chairmanship of Ekatuna Union Parishad No. 6 of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. He proved that it is important to be a human being before becoming a public representative.
