Sacrifices of martyrs will not go in vain, every promise of July Charter will be implemented: State Minister Tuku

State Minister for the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku MP said that the current government is systematically taking forward the justice process through a fair investigation of all incidents. The sacrifices of the martyrs of the July Movement will never go in vain. Every promise included in the ‘July Charter’ will be implemented in stages and the government is working firmly to establish democracy, justice and the rule of law.

He said these words while participating in various programs organized by the Tangail District Administration on Thursday (July 16) on the occasion of ‘July Martyrs’ Day 2026′.

In the morning, State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and Tangail District Commissioner Sharifa Haque paid tribute to the martyrs of the July Movement by laying wreaths at the Tangail District Happy Field Memorial Square. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.

In the speech of the chief guest at the discussion meeting, the State Minister said, ‘The ‘July Charter’ has been signed at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. Every commitment included in the charter will be implemented. The trial process of various incidents is already underway and will be completed consistently. Holding Bangladesh in our hearts, we will work unitedly against fascism. We pay deep respect to all the martyrs who gave their blood for democracy. We want to build a Bangladesh without discrimination.

He also said that the current government has started the trial process by eliminating irregularities and conducting a fair investigation of all incidents systematically. The democracy that the martyrs of July sacrificed for the establishment of democracy should not be hindered in any way. To achieve this goal, everyone must unite and work in the interest of the country.

The State Minister said that the nation will forever remember the sacrifice of the martyrs and the contribution of the injured in the July Movement with respect. The government stands by the families of the martyrs and the injured and is taking necessary steps for their welfare.

In the discussion meeting, the students who participated in the July Movement demanded adequate financial assistance for the families of the deceased and injured, employment arrangements for family members, prompt filing of charge sheets in the murder cases, and effective support for the families of the martyrs and injured.

The meeting recalled with deep respect the sacrifices of all the martyrs including martyrs Abu Sayeed, Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mughd and Mohsin Kabir in the July Movement and called upon everyone to work unitedly to establish democracy, justice and the rule of law by adopting their ideals.

At this time, State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku gave necessary instructions to the Tangail district administration and police administration to build a drug-free Bangladesh. He emphasized on following the zero tolerance policy against drugs in the district.

Officials from various government departments, district police officials, family members of the July martyrs and injured, brave freedom fighters, political figures, teachers, journalists and representatives of civil society were present at the event.
