 A robbery happened in a moving passenger bus at Madhupur in Tangail. Seven passengers were injured while protesting the robbery. The incident took place on Tuesday (April 3) at around 1:30 am on Tangail-Mymensingh regional highway in Raktipara area of Madhupur upazila. Two of the injured have been identified. They are Tara Mia (40), son of Mosir Uddin of Mesta village of Jamalpur Sadar upazila and Kakali Begum (35), wife of Rabiul Islam of Satpoa village of Sarishabari upazila. They have been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Besides, the remaining five people went to their respective homes after receiving first aid. Earlier, Dakatdal Jamalpur bound Madarganj special transport from Chandra When they got on the bus and reached Deolabari area, they took control of the bus and robbed the passengers of gold ornaments, mobile phones and cash. Police and bus passengers said that the passenger bus of Motherganj Special Paribahan which left from Dhaka was going to Motherganj in Jamalpur from Dhaka. On the way, a gang of 7/8 robbers from Chandra of Gazipur boarded the car. When the bus crossed Deolabari in Madhupur upazila, the dakal team took control of the bus. Later they took passengers hostage and looted cash, mobile phones and gold ornaments. At that time, while protesting, the bandits beat and injured 7 passengers. Later the dacoit group fled to Narkona area on the north side of Raktipara of Madhupur. Madhupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mazharul Amin said that a case is being filed in this incident. The injured were rescued and sent to the hospital. The operation to nab those involved in the incident is continuing. It should be noted that before this, on August 3, 2022, a passenger bus of Chittagong Eagle Transport from Kushtia was robbed. In this, they took control of the bus for three hours, tied their hands and feet to their faces, robbed and raped a female passenger. Later, the bus met with an accident near Raktipara Jame Masjid in Madhupur Upazila of the district and the dacoits escaped. Later the locals rescued the passengers.
