Abdul Matin, the head of the Matin army, Arafat, Mizan, Adeeb, second in command have now developed a terrorist network in the area. Recently, Mateen and his army members hacked Alamgir Hossain, the owner of Satta Traders of Metonghar Bazar, to death in his business establishment for not paying a contribution of one lakh taka. Police have not yet arrested anyone in this incident. It is known that terrorist Abdul Mateen has been committing various crimes in Metonghar Bazar and Hosnabad area under Bangra Bazar police station for several years by forming a terrorist force. This force has been formed by combining teenage gangs, rising youth, drug addicts and sneak thieves. The members of this force exert influence in about 20-25 villages by managing the influential people of the area with various strategies. The work of this force is to earn money by conducting arbitration meetings, taking hostages of traders in various markets, land grabbing, extorting money by ensnaring expatriate family members, evictions, rape, and rioting. There are several cases against Matin, the chief of the force, including rape of women, extortion, attempted murder. Besides, there is a separate case against each member of the force. These forces are becoming more and more dangerous as the days go by. If you speak against them, you have to suffer various kinds of abuse including attacks, beatings. The question is what the police are doing? Do they have any relationship with the influential as well as the police? Or are the victims in the maze? So where is the force of the poles of this force? Such questions are now circulating among the residents of the area. Recently, the big businessmen of the area have been targeted by this force. On Tuesday, Mateen and his army members went to Satta Traders, the top business establishment of Metonghar Bazar, and demanded a contribution of one lakh rupees. Alamgir Hossain, the proprietor of the institution, was scolded for refusing to pay the subscription. The video of this attack was spread on social media, but the police could not arrest those involved.

The aggrieved businessman complained that the police took a case against the terrorist mutiny force instead of taking a case of extortion. Despite wanting to file a complaint of extortion, the second officer of the police station, SI Mohan Chandra, expressed his inability to take the case of extortion. He also clarified that the case will not be taken if the clause of extortion is mentioned. Meanwhile, as the people involved in the incident of attacking a businessman by entering the business establishment demanding extortion were not arrested, there is extreme anger among the ordinary businessmen. Jahangir Hossain, a resident of Hosnabad village, said that he left his home 5 years ago in the face of torture by the Mutiny forces and is now staying in Comilla city. I can’t go to the area for fear of them. They asked me for subscription. My house was vandalized for not paying. I went home last Qurbani Eid, but they didn’t let me perform Qurbani. Later I left home fearing for my life. An expatriate from Hosnabad area, who did not wish to be named, said that when an expatriate comes to the country, they have to pay a contribution of Tk 50,000 to one lakh. Otherwise they come to the house and beat and vandalize it. Fearing them, many expatriate families have left the village. However, denying the allegations, Abdul Matin, the head of the Matin Force, said, “I protest against injustice in the area, I protest against those who commit crimes.” So false allegations are being made against me including my staff. Matin said, I did not ask for money from businessman Alamgir. He beat my people. So I took revenge. In this regard, Bangra Bazar police station OC Riaz Uddin Chowdhury said, “I don’t know what cases have been filed against Matin before, but seeing his past record, we are going to act quickly.” No exemption will be given to anyone involved in terrorist financing. He said, since the attack on businessman Alamgir Hossain, terrorist Mateen and his companions are absconding. We are trying to arrest them.
