2617 kg of jatka hilsa was seized in the mobile court of RAB in Jatrabari of the capital and 07 companies were fined 18 lakh 45 thousand taka.
Since its inception, RAB has been playing a leading role in arresting all types of criminals and bringing them under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. Apart from this, prevention of fraud and fraud is an important and ongoing operation of RAB. This operation of RAB has been appreciated in all quarters of the country. In continuation of this, on April 11, 2023 AD, RAB Executive Magistrate Mr. Md. Mazharul Islam and RAB-10 completed a mobile court program in Jatrabari area of the capital. Meanwhile, in the presence of the assistant project officer of the district fisheries directorate, the mobile court fined a total of 18,45,000/- (Eight Lakh Forty Five) to 07 fishermen for the crime of keeping and selling jatka hilsa in Jatrabari area of the capital. Out of which Rs. 8,10,000/-(Eight Lakh Ten Thousand) Cash to Russell Mats, Cash to Maidul Enterprises Mats- 2,05,000/-(Two Lakh Five Thousand) Cash to Rahman Mats- 2, 05,000/- (Two Lakh Five Thousand), Allah Bharsa Fish Aartke Cash- 2,05,000/-(Two Lakh Five Thousand) Shiv Shankari Fish Aartke Cash- 4,10,000/- (Four Lakh Ten Thousand) Tk., Tahmina Matsya Aarta in cash- 5,000/-(five thousand) and Jagannath Matsya Aarta in cash- Tk-5,000/-(five thousand) paid fine. Besides, on the instructions of the learned Executive Magistrate, the said traveling court seized 2617 kg of jatka hilsa worth approximately 10,46,800/- (one lakh forty six thousand and eight hundred) taka and distributed it to various Madrasahs, Orphanages and the needy. Preliminary investigation revealed that these unscrupulous traders had been storing and selling jatka hilsa for quite some time.
