At the center of the story is a ‘mistake’—a food delivery reaches the wrong address. That small incident changes the lives of two strangers. On one side is Tanvir (Pritam Hasan)—emotional, used to making sudden decisions, who believes that everything in life happens for some reason. On the other side is Subah (Zeffer Rahman)—restrained, logical, loves to ask questions before entering into a relationship. The story progresses with the convergence of the paths of these two people with opposite mindsets, the formation of an invisible bond between them. The question remains—are the repeated incidents mere coincidences, or is there an invisible connection behind them? In this oscillation, the movie Tumi Ami Shub finds a new definition of relationship.
Since its release on the OTT platform Binge on the occasion of Bengali New Year, the web film has been the subject of discussion, criticism, praise, and sharing of personal feelings on social media. Many viewers feel that the curiosity that was created around the teaser-trailer before the release has been largely fulfilled after the release.
Director Shihab Shaheen is an expert in romantic dramas; that impression is also present in ‘Tumi Ami Shubhu’. He has presented the familiar story in an enjoyable way. The two central characters are musicians Pritam Hasan and Zefar Rahman. Both have worked with the director before. Pritam has given a credible performance in ‘Kacher Manush Dore Thuiya’ and most recently in ‘Cactus’ on Eid. On the other hand, Zefar was seen in ‘Myshelf Allen Swapan 2’. The audience liked the chemistry of the two musicians in this new movie.
Regarding acting in this movie, Pritam Hasan said, ‘I liked the story very much from the beginning. When I heard about it a year ago, I was excited about the work. I believed that the work would get a good response and that is what happened. I tried to make the character in such a way that the youth of the city can easily relate to me. The story is taken from a very basic place in our society, so the main goal was to present it simply.’ He further said, ‘The production was done in a very short time, but the way Shihab bhai has given the output within a week is really amazing. Now we are getting a very good response from the audience—many are watching it more than once, it is a great joy for us.’
After working in several projects in a row, Zephyr can now be called a singer-actress. Her expression in this movie has become more mature than before. She was especially fluent in the romantic scenes. About the movie, Zephyr said, ‘I am overwhelmed by the response I am getting for the movie. I did not expect to get such a positive response. Since I am very new to acting, I was a little nervous in the beginning. But in the end everything turned out well—it gives me great joy. My acting is being praised, it is a different feeling for me.’
Among the co-stars, experienced artists like Abdullah Al Sentu, Sara Fairuz Zaima, Manas Banerjee, Samu Chowdhury, Munmun Ahmed have further strengthened the atmosphere of the story.
The director said that although the shooting was completed a year ago, Tumi Ami Shur was stuck in various technical complications. Finally, after overcoming those complications, the movie was released in Baishakh. Shihab Shaheen said that it is basically the story of a young woman’s free will and living her life in her own way. At the same time, it is also a love story – where the audience will find something new.
