A vibrant poetry recitation session is held under the regular initiative of the poetry magazine council at the National Press Club on Tuesday (March 31) at the Maulana Akram Khan Auditorium.
The session is presided over by poet Shaheen Chowdhury, editor of the poetry magazine. At the beginning of the program, his newly published poetry book “Batashe Jwole Agun” is officially unveiled, adding a special dimension to the event.
On the occasion, three distinguished individuals who receive the Bangla Academy Award this year are honored. The awardees are:
Poet Hasan Hafiz, editor of Kaler Kantho and President of the National Press Club, in children’s literature
Poet Dr. Mustafa Majid, in research
Poet Mohon Raihan, President of the National Poetry Council, in poetry
Following the felicitation, a large number of poets from different parts of the country recite their self-composed poems. Among them are Jahangir Firoz, Nazmul Hasan, Kamar Farid, Abam Salauddin, Abdul Majid, Kalyan Chakraborty, Mili Haque, Bazlur Raihan, Abdul Mannan, Nurul Hasan Khan, Atikul Islam, Touhid Aziz, Shimul Parveen, Shahidul Joy, Lili Sheth, Yusuf Reza, Kamruzzaman, Nurul Islam Khokon, Bhanuranjan Chakraborty, Mousumi Mou, Atikuzzaman Khan, Shyamoli Mondol, Mohammad Abu Hanifa, Zainal Abedin Joy, Majidur Rahman Biswas, Zahurul Islam Manju, Dewan Masuda Sultana, Mozaffar Babu, Shibukanti Das, Ri Hossain, Mahbubur Rahman, Saki Anwar, Farhana Tania, Kabir Bhuiyan, Ahmed Moin, Mehjabin Haque, Khan Sarwar Kabir, Khaleda Akter Kobita, Himel Ishaq, Md. The event is hosted by poet Rafik Hasan.
