Pirojpur Correspondent: The Sarpan Bari area of ​​Ward No. 4 of Pirojpur Municipality has been flooded due to continuous heavy rains due to the recent low pressure. Local residents are in extreme distress. About 200 families in the area are currently spending their days in their homes due to the flooding. Several families have been forced to take shelter in a nearby school building as water has already entered many homes.
On Saturday (August 1) afternoon, Pirojpur District Council Administrator Principal Alamgir Hossain visited the affected area.
During the visit, he inquired about the flooded people, listened to their complaints and the overall situation. He assured all kinds of support to the affected families on behalf of the District Council.
While talking to reporters after the inspection, District Council Administrator Alamgir Hossain expressed concern about the health risks caused by the waterlogging. He said, “There is a serious threat of dengue spreading in the area due to waterlogging. Realizing the matter, we immediately contacted the Pirojpur municipal administration. We have requested the municipal authorities to take all necessary and effective measures to prevent dengue.”
Local BNP leaders and workers were present along with the Zilla Parishad Administrator during the visit. Local residents demanded urgent intervention from the administration for quick water drainage and necessary humanitarian assistance.
