 13 brick kiln workers including the driver were injured when a pickup truck lost control and fell into a ditch during an overtaking competition at Kasba in Brahmanbaria on Monday afternoon. The injured were rescued and treated at Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital in the accident which happened at Khadera on the Comilla-Sylhet highway. The police and the injured said that 30 workers of Chayanika Brick Field of Comilla’s Muradnagar Upazila were returning to their homes in Brahmanbaria and Habiganj’s Madhavpur in two pickups. On the way, a pickup lost control and fell into a ditch while overtaking another pickup at Khadera in Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria. At that time, 13 workers including the driver were injured. In this regard, Khantihata Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandra Biswas confirmed the truth of the incident. He said that the injured have been rescued and treated. The pickup involved in the accident is in police custody.
