A theft of Tk 9 lakh has taken place by cutting the grill of the window of the agent banking office of Islami Bank in Kalikach Bazar of Sarail Upazila of Brahmanbaria. The incident is believed to have happened sometime on Monday night. On receiving the information, the police visited the spot.
Sarail police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Emranul Islam said that a person named Hafez Mohammad Ansar runs a branch of agent banking of Islami Bank in Kalikach Bazar of the upazila. On Monday night he stopped everything and went home. On Tuesday morning, he came and saw that the grill of the office window was cut. Nine lakh taka were stolen by breaking the chest in the office. The incident is being investigated. Legal action will be taken accordingly if written complaint is received.
