New ship ‘Banglar Nabajatra’ added to Bangladesh Shipping Corporation’s fleet

Md. Shahriar Ripon, Chittagong Bureau: Special Report: A new ship MV ‘Banglar Nabajatra’ has been added to Bangladesh Shipping Corporation’s (BSC) fleet. The ship was previously known as XCL LION.

According to BSC sources, the delivery of the ship was officially completed today (January 28, 2026) at 8:19 am GMT and 4:19 pm China local time. Immediately after the delivery, its master took charge of the ship.

On this occasion, the closing program of the ship began at 6:30 am today at the office of the seller’s law firm Stevenson Harwood.

According to BSC, the physical delivery of the ship will be completed on January 29, 2026 at Nanyang Shipyard in Xingjiang, China.

With the completion of all formalities, the ship is now fully owned by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.

Expressing satisfaction in this regard, BSC Managing Director (MD) Santosh said, “Alhamdulillah, today is a happy day for us. With the addition of ‘Banglar Nabjatra’ to our fleet, BSC’s capacity will further increase.
