Sourav Hasan Rudra, the nephew of the accused in the Anisur Rahman murder case in Gazipur, has been arrested from Akhaura, Brahmanbaria.
The railway police were able to arrest him from Akhaura railway station on Friday. This information was released in a police release at night. The murder took place last Wednesday. Akhaura railway police said that they arrested him in a raid at Akhaura railway junction station on Friday at 4:30 am based on a secret tip-off. The police also said that he tried to escape from Akhaura station by Dhaka Mail.
Last Wednesday, accused Sourav Bonti hacked his uncle Anisur Rahman, who was sleeping in his house, with a knife in the Bhabanipur (Uttarpara) area of ​​the upazila. Locals rescued him and took him to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital. When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to a hospital in Uttara in the capital, where Anisur Rahman died at around 8:30 pm while undergoing treatment. Later, a murder case was filed against him at Gazipur Police Station on Thursday.
Akhaura Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Shafiqul Islam said that the arrested Sourav Hasan has been handed over to Gazipur Police Station. He added that Anisur Rahman was killed for not giving him money to buy drugs.
