National Livestock Week and Livestock Exhibition-2025 in Pirojpur

Md. Shahin Fakir,Pirojpur: The National Livestock Week and Livestock Exhibition 2025 was organized by the Pirojpur District Livestock Department and Sadar Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital with the theme ‘Local breeds, advanced technology, progress in livestock’.

The exhibition was held on Wednesday (November 26) at the premises of the Sadar Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital.

On this occasion, a rally was organized by the Pirojpur District Livestock Department and circled various important roads. After the rally, the invited guests visited various stalls participating in the livestock exhibition. Later, they met in a discussion meeting.

Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed was present as the chief guest at the event and inaugurated the Livestock Week and Livestock Exhibition-2025.

Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (A.D.A.) Md. Al Amin was present as a special guest at the event, chaired by Pirojpur District Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Rana Mia.

Also present at the event were Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Deputy Director (Crops) of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Pirojpur, agriculturist, Partha Sarathi Dutta, District Veterinary Officer, Upazila Veterinary Surgeon and Upazila Livestock Officer (Acting) Dr. Debashish Chandra Pal.

In addition, officials from various departments of the district, various farmers under the Animal Resources Department, and journalists participated in it.

In his speech, the chief guest requested farmers not to feed food that is harmful to the human body and also advised not to give antibiotics without the advice of a doctor or to feed hormones for more profit.
He also assured that the demands of the farmers would be met.

Highlighting the objectives and activities of the exhibition, the organizers said that the aim of the event is to improve the quality of the animals and birds produced by farmers, create markets, and make them aware of modern technology.

Farmers displayed their cattle, goats, sheep, poultry, pigeons, and various types of pet birds at 30 stalls at the fair.

Participating farmers said that such fairs provide them with an opportunity to exchange experiences and introduce them to new buyers and consumers.

The fair, which started in the morning, continued till the afternoon. At the end of the day, successful farmers were awarded for their special contributions in various categories and for displaying excellent livestock.

The exhibition grounds came alive with the participation of guests, farmers, and the general public.
