Narsingdi District Jail organizes Baisakh : High-quality food and cultural programs for prisoners

On the occasion of Pohela Baishakh, a day-long special food and cultural program was organized for prisoners at Narsingdi District Jail on Tuesday (April 14).

On this occasion, high-quality food was served among the prisoners, which created a festive atmosphere.

Narsingdi District Jail Superintendent Md. Tarek Kamal said that in the morning, prisoners were served panta, hilsa fish, potato stew, onion and green chili.

Polao, beef, mutton, roast, soft drinks, sweets, cucumber and betel nut were served in the afternoon. The dinner consisted of white rice, potato stew and rui fish.

At the same time, panta, hilsa fish, potato stew, onion and green chili were also served among the prison officials and employees.

The food distribution program was completed smoothly, the concerned people said. The prisoners and staff expressed satisfaction after eating the food.

In addition, a pleasant cultural program was organized with the participation of the prisoners throughout the day. At the program, the prisoners performed patriotic and Baisakhi songs and plays, which fascinated everyone present.

Everyone had smiles on their faces in the festive atmosphere—it was as if the festival of the life of Bengal had crossed the prison walls.

Jail Superintendent Md. Tarek Kamal, Jailer Md. Humayun Kabir, Deputy Jailer and other prison officials and employees were present at the time.
