Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman PPM (Bar) has been promoted to the post of Additional DIG of Bangladesh Police, a native of Sonaimuri village of Adra Union, Barura, Comilla. He was born in 1977 in Sonaimuri village of Adra Union of Barura Upazila in a noble Muslim family. His father Alhaj Abdur Rashid Master was a renowned teacher. He completed his SSC from Sonaimuri High School (in 1992), and HSC from Payalgacha Degree College (in 1994) and completed his Bachelors (Honours) and Masters from Dhaka University. After that he passed 24th BCS and started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police. During his long career, he successfully served in various important positions of Bangladesh Police. In between, he started his career as Assistant Police Commissioner in Dhaka Metropolitan Police Service and served as Additional Superintendent of Police in Gazipur District, Chittagong District, Meherpur and Narayanganj. Served in United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Sudan and as Superintendent of Police in Meherpur and Satkhira Districts. He has already received the President’s Police Medal (PPM) twice from the Hon’ble Prime Minister in recognition of meritorious service during his career.
