Dinajpur Correspondent: “Metal Baisakhi Festival 1433” was held at the Eidgah Maidan premises of Chehelgazi Union No. 1, Dinajpur, organized by Metal Farmtech Limited, an agricultural machinery supplier. Hundreds of farmers, buyers and local residents from different areas of the district participated in this event organized on the occasion of Bengali New Year.
The event, which started at 12:30 pm on Thursday, continued till the afternoon. Various competitions including rope pulling and pillow playing were organized to highlight rural traditions in the event, in which the participants participated spontaneously.
The event was attended by the organization’s Head of Sales and Marketing (AGM) Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique, Regional Manager of Dinajpur region Md. Hamidul Islam and Senior Executive Md. Matiar Rahman and other officials.
Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique said,
“We are working at the field level to increase the use of modern machinery in agriculture. Through such events, direct contact is created with farmers, which plays a positive role in adopting technology.”
A local farmer said,
“Through such festivals, we can get an idea about new machinery. If there is an opportunity to buy on easy terms, we will be more interested.”
Special offers were announced for those interested in purchasing agricultural machinery at the event. The organizers informed that there is a discount on booking tractors of certain brands throughout the month of April, cash discount on down payment and various gifts including motorcycles, LED TVs, deep fridges and smartphones.
Those concerned believe that such initiatives can play an important role in increasing the mechanization of agriculture in the northern region including Dinajpur.
The festival ended in a joyful atmosphere after the day-long event.
