A special monitoring meeting has been held in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila to ensure the smooth implementation of the school feeding activities and its quality. The meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Monday (May 18) organized by the Pirojpur Sadar Upazila administration, with Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mamunur Rashid presiding over the meeting.
‎
‎The speakers at the meeting laid special emphasis on maintaining the quality of nutritious food provided to primary school students, delivering food at the right time and in the right quantity, and ensuring a healthy environment.
‎
‎In his speech, UNO Mamunur Rashid said, “No irregularities or negligence will be tolerated in the school feeding activities to ensure the nutrition and good health of students. Food providers must deliver quality food to schools at the right time.” He further said that the quality of the bakery and food storage will be regularly inspected by the sanitary inspector, UHFPO and a special medical team.
The meeting gave some important decisions and instructions to make the school feeding program more dynamic and error-free:
Every school should provide safe drinking water for students. School authorities and managing committee chairmen have been instructed to directly supervise this matter.
Students should ensure the habit of washing their hands regularly before taking food. Adequate provision of hand sanitizer or soap should be made in the wash blocks of the school along with water.
After the daily food distribution, a daily report should be submitted to the Upazila Education Officer (TEO) not only with the sole signature of the headmaster, but also with the signature of all the teachers of the school along with the signature of the managing committee.
Monthly Feedback Meeting: This monitoring and feedback meeting will be held at least once a month to review the overall progress of the school feeding program and to quickly eliminate any gaps or deficiencies.

Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Shahidul Islam, District BNP Member Secretary SM Saidul Islam Kismat, Upazila administration officials, representatives of law enforcement agencies, local dignitaries and headmasters of various primary schools were present at the time.

The speakers urged everyone to work sincerely to make this integrated program a success in improving the nutritional quality of children.
