Mashahed Ahmed, Moulvibazar: Moulvibazar Model Police Station has seized a large quantity of Indian illegal goods in a special operation.
On Wednesday midnight, based on a secret tip-off, a covered van was seized from in front of SA Paribahan Courier Service in Kusumbagh area of Moulvibazar city. At that time, sarees, blankets, and various types of cosmetics illegally brought from India were recovered from inside the covered van. Sources said that the police searched the Srimangal SA Paribahan office on the night of April 24 and seized a large quantity of Indian illegal goods. Earlier, the police conducted a raid on the courier service office in Moulvibazar on the night of April 6 in search of Indian illegal cumin. During this, the police seized about 30 bags of cumin while unloading it from a pickup van. Later, on October 10, 2025, the gang showed some court papers to the police and sent the bags of Indian cumin to Dhaka through a courier service. Smugglers have taken this area and courier services as a safe route. Smugglers have been smuggling Indian goods to different parts of the country through this route for a long time, eluding the law enforcement agencies. Confirming the matter, Moulvibazar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Suman Chandra Sarkar said, “These goods brought through the smuggled route have been seized. The list of seized goods is being prepared. It will take another day to complete the list. A case is under process in this incident.”
