A landslide occurred at a madrasa in A-3′ block of Rohingya camp number 5, Kutupalong, Ukhia upazila, Cox’s Bazar. It is reported that classes were going on at the time. Information about one death has been confirmed in this.
Locals believe that the casualties may increase further. The incident took place at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday (July 8). It has been reported that a Rohingya student was killed in this.
According to local and fire service sources, a landslide suddenly occurred at the madrasa in A-3′ block on Wednesday afternoon. Fire service members rushed to the rescue after receiving the news of the landslide. The body of one person has been recovered from the scene. Fire service authorities said that the casualties may increase further.
Master Dollar Tripura of Ukhia station of the fire service confirmed the information. He said, “One person has died in a landslide at a madrasa. Rescue efforts are underway. It is expected that the casualties may increase further.”
