Two trains collided in Lalmonirhat. The incident took place at the BDR Gate area of the city on Monday, July 28. It is reported that two coaches of the Lalmoni Express overturned and several people were injured.
According to local sources, a local train from Burimari Land Port was entering Lalmonirhat Station.
At the same time, the Dhaka-bound Lalmoni Express train was heading towards Wasfit for cleaning. At that time, the head-on collision occurred due to a signal failure.
Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Manager Abu Mostafa Alam said, initially it seems that the accident may have occurred due to a faulty signal. An investigation is underway.
